BOCA to stop using eggs

BOCA has agreed to stop using eggs in their products by the end of 2009 thanks to the efforts of Compassion Over Killing, Animal Protection and Rescue League and Mercy for Animals. Animal Place was proud to support and promote this campaign and is happy to see it's success actualized.

A company spokesperson emailed COK yesterday:

…I am pleased to let you know the BOCA brand will be eliminating eggs in all of its products by the end of this year. We anticipate all BOCA products will be egg free in 2010.

Please thank BOCA for taking this compassionate step to reduce the suffering of the hundreds of millions of hens in the egg-laying industry. You can email them: boca@casupport.com

Interesting - the jump over and past the free-range option. Wonder why?

Maybe effusive celebration could confirm the notion amongst farmers that certain organisations want to turn the world population into vegans, rather than co-exist with animals in a way that allows for dairy, wool, eggs, etc., to be produced in a way that respects the potential for a sentient partnership between humans and animals?
